For single row dumbbells your back needs to be at 45 degrees angle, knees off the bench. Shoulders should always be above hips slightly.

Can I do a standing barbell row with dumbbells instead? Like just exactly how you'd do a barbell row just with dumbbells in each hand instead, because it's pretty inconvenient to do each side with single handed dumbbells rows on a bench
