Why You Should Take a Walk After That Big Holiday Meal

Oh, the vacations! Stuffed with household, pals and all these meals we love, from buttered dinner rolls and inexperienced beans coated in mushroom soup to wealthy, creamy desserts. No surprise we need to cozy up with the TV distant or trusty telephone afterward, when mind and physique fog set in. Don’t do it! It’s smarter and more healthy to take a brief stroll outdoors.

“When the children have been rising up, we had a vacation custom of taking a stroll break after a meal,” says Teresa Kowalski, a second-grade instructor in Cranford, New Jersey. “Getting out into the crisp air and sunshine was a good way to show down the stress of coping with household and alleviate the sluggish feeling after overindulging. We felt refreshed afterward.”
